My name is Jake Murphy. I offer an quick, pain-free way to bring your bathtub back to life. I was born and raised in Cincinnati and am married with two young sons. My goal is to bring a high quality finish to your bathtub for an affordable price. I use top of the line product coatings and was trained by the manufacturer to give you a beautiful, long lasting refinish you can count on. How long does it take to refinish a bathtub?
It only takes 4-6 hours to refinish your bathtub.
How long do I have to wait until I can use my bathtub again?
You need to wait 24 hours after the refinish job is complete to use your bathtub again.
My tub is peeling, can it still be refinished?
If your tub has a peeling layer then that means it has been refinished before. I can still refinish but the tub will need to be chemically stripped first. I charge $200 extra if stripping is necessary as it adds 2 hours of labor to the process.
What kind of cleaning products can I use after you refinish the tub?
You'll want to wait a minimum of seven days after the refinish before using any cleaning products. After seven days you should use non-abrasive cleaners (Comet, 409, Fantastic, Scrubbing Bubbles, etc) and a soft scrub pad - anything you would feel comfortable using on a teflon pan.
Will the coating release harmful vapors?
There is no danger of harmful vapors as we use a high power exhaust fan to blow all fumes out of the home. After I finish it will smell similar to a freshly painted room and will dissipate in a few hours.
How long does a refinished tub last?
With proper care your personal residence tub should stay in great condition for 10+ years (and under a no-peel warranty for that amount of time!). Rental property tubs are under warranty for one year.
I'm renovating the full property. Should I have my contractors redo the plumbing before or after refinishing the tub?
I highly recommend doing any plumbing or tile work before refinishing. It can be very easy for a contractor to drop a heavy tool and scratch your freshly finished tub. You will want to have all trades done before refinishing the tub.
What should I do to prepare for a refinish?
I need the electric and the water on for a refinish. Please remove any curtain rods, soaps, etc that are around the area to be sprayed. The temperature of the property needs to be between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. And I'll need access to a window to exhaust the fumes.
